Vending steels are unalloyed steels with a high rate of Sulfur (S) and Manganese (Mn), thanks to the formation of small and brittle chips thanks to Mangan and Sulfur, it allows fast working in production. Due to their easy machinability feature, they can be used in single or multi spindle, rovelver and lathe machines, longitudinal and face turning, threading, drilling, reaming, etc. They are defined as steel, which is the most suitable machinability feature for metal removal processes.
By adding Lead (Pb) to these steels, cutting speeds can be increased. Automat steels are divided into three groups as heat treated, non heat treated and cementation treated.
Free cutting steels are used cold drawn with precise dimensional tolerances. Surface sensitivity is produced within the tolerances of h9, h11.
